Responsible use of the Internet

All pupils now have access to the internet during lessons. The internet in school is via a filtered and protected system that restricts access to ‘safe’ internet content. Please read the ‘Rules for Internet use’ and then sign to allow your child to continue to have internet access. If we do not gain a signature the pupil will not be granted Internet access in school.

Rules for Internet use

  • I will only access the system with my own login and password.

  • I will use computers for school and homework.

  • I will not bring in memory sticks or CDs from outside the school.

  • I will ask permission from a member of staff before using the Internet.

  • I will only email people I know or my teacher has approved.

  • The message I send will be polite and responsible.

  • I will not give my home address or telephone number or arrange to meet someone.

  • I will report any unsuitable material or message sent to me. I understand my report will be confidential and would help protect other children and myself.

  • I understand that the school may check my computer files and monitor the Internet sites I visit.

  • I understand that my parents/carers will be informed if I misuse the Internet.

  • I have read the ‘Rules for Internet use’ and agree it.

  • If I do not understand any part of the rules and how they apply to me, I will ask a member of staff for help.
