Homelearning
An example from year 4
Dear parents/carers,
Home learning for this week is as follows:
Literacy activities: (See separate sheets).
Maths activities: (See separate sheets)
History projects and presentations: Deadline 1st July.
- Also note all pupils will have daily reading and this needs to be recorded in their Reading Journal.
- Pupils will also have Spelling and Reading words in their yellow books to learn each week. This should be the focus on home learning from Monday to Thursday.
Please support your child with their home learning, however if they do find it too difficult or too easy please also communicate this with us. Star* any questions you may have had to help a lot with. You can also indicate I for ‘Independent’ if your child has completed it on their own.
Home learning needs to be completed by the following Monday. All home learning unless stated must be completed in the book.
If you have any questions about the home learning your child has been set please do not hesitate to contact us.
Responsible use of the Internet
All pupils now have access to the internet during lessons. The internet in school is via a filtered and protected system that restricts access to ‘safe’ internet content. Please read the ‘Rule for Internet use’ and then sign to allow your child to continue to have internet access. If we do not gain a signature the pupil will not be granted Internet access in school.
Rules for Internet use
- I will only access the system with my own login and password.
- I will use computers for school and homework.
- I will not bring in memory sticks or CDs from outside the school.
- I will ask permission from a member of staff before using the Internet.
- I will only email people I know or my teacher has approved.
- The message I send will be polite and responsible.
- I will not give my home address or telephone number or arrange to meet someone.
- I will report any unsuitable material or message sent to me. I understand my report will be confidential and would help protect other children and myself.
- I understand that the school may check my computer files and monitor the Internet sites I visit.
Pupil
- I understand that my parents/carers will be informed if I misuse the Internet.
- I have read the “Rules for Internet use” and agree it.
- If I do not understand any part of the rules and how the apply to me, I will ask a member of staff for help.
